 Brr, it's cold and yucky outside friends. Over the past few days we have been waiting for the worst and today we got some bad weather but nothing like 13 miles to the north and even further. We are singing praises to our Sweet Jesus for the little bit we received and thankfulness for what we missed.

I am not a Laura Ingalls girl. I am a warm, hot bath, tv and cooking on the stove girl.

A severe winter storm was headed our way and according to officials we were to have 7 essential items in our house for a storm. Let's review the 7.

1. One gallon of water for each person for at least three days. Plus no perishable food.
2. Flashlight.
3. Battery operated radio
4. Extra batteries
5. Prescription meds
6. First Aid kit
7. Copy of insurance papers, deeds or important papers

Smart list, let us review what the Brians had.

No water expect what would come out of the faucet. Flashlight, extra batteries, yep got those. My wonderful husband even got me hurricane lamps. Prescription meds, Derek is the only one with these and it's in the bathroom. First aid kit, nope. Copies of important papers, nope.

You what we did have... Electricity and no bad ice. As you can see on the tree there is a very fine layer, but only in places. Now the ground had a good dusting of sleet and snow. But I am blogging tonight and watching NCIS. Tomorrow I make my first batch of Amish Friendship Bread. Yum.
