Brazil Mission Team

A group from our church left Sunday on a mission trip to Manaus, Brazil. Part of the group consisted of Bailey and Amber, they are in band and the same grade as Conor. Below are some pictures being sent back to Facebook from the group.

This was the moon Sunday evening, we have been going out at 9:00 pm and looking at the moon, the team is doing the same as prayer for the trip.

{Prayer calendar for the duration of the time I will be in Brazil} I would love for you to join with me in prayer and ask God daily for specific requests. It means so much to me and the rest of my team to know that other believers are daily lifting us up in prayer. I can't wait to see how He is going to work! Thanks for investing in the Kingdom! Matthew 28:19 Sunday, May 27th- Pray for safe travels as the team flies out of Memphis, TN headed to Atlanta, GA, to Miami, FL and then finally arriving(on Monday) in Manaus, Brazil. Monday, May 28th-Pray for the Brazilian boat crew and the team's safety as we travel up the Amazon by house boat then by dugout canoe. Tuesday, May 29th-Pray that as a team and individually, we would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and that we would joyfully join in the work God's already doing. Wednesday, May 30th-Pray for the team's safety as we travel to the villages and meet the Indians. Thursday, May 31th-Pray that we are equipped with the strength, knowledge and wisdom to help the Indians through medical and dental treatment. Friday, June 1st-Pray that the translators are able to clearly convey the message of the Gospel to the Indians. (English to Portuguese to Wai-Wai...whew.) Saturday, June 2nd-Pray that through our daily church services, VBS and personal outreach the Indians would be receptive to the Holy Spirit and come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior! Sunday, June 3rd-Pray that as a team and individually we realize that what we're doing is not really anything WE'RE doing...it's all what GOD is doing. Pray that we continually rely on His power to help us in everything we do and that we constantly thank Him for showing Himself and giving us the wisdom, strength and knowledge to join in His work. Monday, June 4th-Pray that God not only works in the lives of the Indians, but also in each of the 10 team members going. Pray that God uses each of us in an unique way to be His hands and feet. Tuesday, June 5th-Pray for a renewed joy in what we're doing. Pray that we have patience and continue to do everything in love and with joy. Wednesday, June 6th-Pray for the new Christians in the villages that they take the Gospel and spread it to other villagers and continue to grow spiritually after our team leaves. Thursday, June 7th-Pray for safety as we travel back down the Amazon to Manaus, Brazil. Friday, June 8th-Pray for safety as we fly from Manaus, Brazil to Miami, FL (where we'll spend the night) and then in the morning onto Atlanta, GA and finally arriving in Memphis, TN. Saturday, June 9th-Pray that as a team our excitement and enthusiasm about the work God did in Brazil will not stay in Brazil. Pray that we continue the mission trip in our daily lives, when we go to Wal-Mart, our work, school, church and everywhere else.
